Annual Basketball Otago Tournament-Outram Champions Again!!
On sunday we had a tournament against teams from all around Otago. The first game against Mt Aspiring 'A' we lost by 2 points and we won all the other games against Abbortsford, Mt Aspiring 'B' and Portobello. This meant we were in the final against the real enemy Mt Aspiring 'A'. This was a real hard game but the whole Outram Rockets team showed the opposition who's boss and played there hearts out. Because of this huge effort Outram took out the grand final 27-25. This was a great achievement because the Mt Aspiring team trains three times a week and were a lot taller than us. It was a great, great feeling to bring home the trophy to put in the cabinet along side all the other trophy's Outram school has won.

Otago Cross Country Championships
The school was represented at the Otago champs by a team of nine students. The team had been training prior to the event for 6 weeks. Focusing on aerobic endurance and leg stamina. For training we did things like running up and down a set of stairs at the Outram Glen. The cross country was very big with about 100 in each race! The real cross contry track was about 2km for years 5/6 and the year 7/ 8's race was around 2.4 km . At the end of the event we had some great results like, Christie W 3rd in her year 5/6 race, Emily B 12th in the year 7 race and Myles V got 7th in the year7/8 race. After a big day Christie W came back to school to be greeted by words like "Well done", and "Great effort!". Last year Christie came 27!- Everyone says the training regime helped.
Cameron W also had a great race(25th year 8 boys) for missing 2 training sessions! in the end we all had a great day at the Cross Country and would like to thank the parent s that made the trip in to support the team.

Outram School - Champions of Otago!!
Yahoo!! The Outram Rockets have won the final. It was a hard game against Kaikorai Valley College this week with a score of 14-0. This shows that Outram had awesome defence as well as being stronger on attack. This week the girls got in and hassled as well as scoring some good goals. We are very proud about are achievment and would like to say a huge thanks to Readylawn, McArthurs Fruit and the Outram Hotel(our sponsors) and Mr Martin our coach.
