Otago Basketball Grand Final-Yr 7/8
The Outram yr 7/8 basketball team has made the Otago Basketball Grand final. The final will be played on Monday 3rd September at the Edgar Centre at 4:05pm. The team has had a fantastic season and would like to thank our sponsors- McArthurs Fruit, Ready Lawn, Outram Hotel. Also a big thankyou to our supporters and especially Marie W with all her help and support throughout the season. Make sure you come and support the Outram Yr 7/8 team and show the 'Big City' schools how basketball is played!
West Taieri Rugby Report
U7 Maroons vs U7 Dunedin Sharks
The team travelled to The Oval last Saturday to play their final game of the season. Despite West Taieri's best efforts, Dunedin proved to be too good and eventually won 11-7. However, West Taieri certainly displayed much better sportsmanship throughout the game for which I'm very proud of the team. Player of the Day went to James L.
West Taieri v Eastern Under 9's
The boys capped off a brilliant season with a big 70-0 win at home in perfect conditions. The tries were shared amongst the forwards and backs and all the players were rewarded for a fine game. They can all be proud of their efforts throughout the season and finished with 10 wins, 3 loses and a draw, scoring 765 points and conceding just 135. At the prize giving that followed Jordan B was awarded Player of the Year. Russell B and Sammy B were presented with Most Improved Player awards.

Yr 7/8 Otago Basketball Semi Final
We had an awesome game this week against Portobello. Emily B played very well on defence and wasnt afraid to get in there and rip the ball off the oposition, all the other girls played very well. We planned to have mostly the girls on defence which left the boys free to get a pass and score, this plan worked really well and Cameron W scored 22 points. With a real team effort we took out the semi final win 46-20. We are now excited about the final next week and possibly becoming Otago Champions!! Bt Cameron W.
I thought we played really well to. Portobello didn't stand a chance against us! The girls did well on defence and the boys did really well at scoring. Jared J did well getting the rebounds and getting the ball down the court to Cameron W. Over all we played a really good game and we hope to win the finals game next week.

Basketball Semi Finals-Yr 7/8
The school will be represented by the Yr 7/8 basketball team in the otago basketball mixed semi finals. The team is playing Portobello which should be a tough game. Both teams have gone through round robin play with only 1 loss. The game is at the Edgar centre in Dunedin, starting time 4:05pm.
